Preheat the oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine cocoa and baking soda, whisk in the melted butter. 3/4 c. cocoa powder, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 2/3 c. melted butter (approx. 11 Tbsp.) Add the boiling water and stir until blended. 1/2 c. boiling water. Whisk in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla.

Lightly butter square cake pan. Combine chocolate chips, crackers (rolled fine), vanilla and nuts in large mixing bowl. In sauce pan combine milk and sugar. Bring to rolling boil. Oatmeal Mixture: Mix room-temperature butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl until smooth. In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients.
