AC 428 Frua Coupe 50 to 70
The AC Frua or AC 428 is a British GT built by AC Cars from 1965 to 1973. Production was 81 cars built in total: 49 coupés (known as fastbacks), 29 convertibles, and 3 special bodied. History The Frua is built on an AC Cobra 427 Mark III chassis extended by 6 inches (150 mm).

A steel strike in Italy in 1969 and into '70 meant delivery dates became something of a lottery. On occasion, AC completed two cars in the same week, but this was the exception rather than the rule. Nevertheless, interest in the 428 remained high. Even more so after the motoring media finally got their mits on a demonstrator, John Bolster.

AC Cars wanted to enter the luxury GT market with the 428. However, only about 80 vehicles were produced until 1973.

AC Cars produced only 81 428 Frua's of which only 29 were convertibles . Built on a similar chassis as the 427 cobra . In fact the rolling chassis was sent to Turin Italy for the bodies to be fabricated in steel and returned to AC Cars for painting , trimming etc . This particular car in its stunning original colour of metallic Live Oak , shows.
AC 428 Convertible by Frua Sport Car
This 1968 AC 428 is only the second one we've ever seen for sale in the USA. It looks to be in very clean condition, and is said to have matching numbers but a color change from blue in 1989.
